Middle School Student Perspectives on Meeting for Worship

"Meeting for Worship means to me a time to sit, relax, and mainly think; a time to think about family, friends, and just life. Personally, I like Meeting for Worship. I like the time to think about life - how to make it better. To me, Meeting for Worship is a time to communicate with my inner-self, something I don't usually get to do."

"It is a time that I get a chance to calm down and rest. I get a chance to put my thoughts in order and catch my breath."

"Meeting for Worship for me is a time to stop - stop rushing, stop working, stop talking. It's a time to relax and think about what's happened and what's going to happen."

"I believe that Meeting for Worship is a quiet time, but not too quiet to fall asleep. Even though I am not Quaker, I think that it is a time to relax, close your eyes and think about things. Once you have thought deeply, you should share your feelings and thoughts."

"I think Meeting for Worship is a place to think about things to pray, to share your feelings, to let your imagination wonder into another place."
