The visual arts curriculum in the Lower School is closely aligned with what students are learning in their social studies and science classes. Subjects range from people and animals, to different styles of art, such as Cubism, and the art of different cultures, including Native American, Prehistoric, Egyptian, African tribal, Middle Eastern, African American, and Asian.
Middle School art has two offerings—required regular classes, which meet twice a week, and a more intensive fine arts elective, which meets two to three times a week. Both offer students a rigorous but accessible art education. The Middle School art department keeps students active and engaged as their creative skills improve and artistic confidence increases.
Upper School students may choose from a variety of courses, depending on their interest level and how much they would like to incorporate the visual arts into their daily lives. Minor and major courses are offered.
