Gifts to Friends School have a powerful effect on the quality of education we offer our students and on the quality of life our students and faculty experience on campus. Your financial contributions are received, processed, and gratefully acknowledged by the staff of the Development Office, who also oversee all Annual and Capital campaigns as well as Major and Planned Giving initiatives.
At day and boarding schools and at many colleges and universities across the country, tuition alone falls short of covering the actual cost of educating each student. At Friends, that shortfall is approximately 10 percent of the School’s operating budget. The Annual Fund helps to bridge the gap.
Taking the longer view, Capital Campaign gifts and pledges ensure that outdated facilities on the campus are renewed and renovated, or replaced with new buildings for today’s children and for those who will follow them.
Planned Gifts enable the School’s endowment to grow and, with the annual fund, to continue to support faculty salaries, summer grants, and financial aid for qualified students.
Gifts to special initiatives, such as the beautiful James L. Zamoiski ’68 Alumni Center, further enhance our campus and our programs.
Each year, Friends School recognizes those who have provided the tangible resources to make our community stronger through Philanthropy at Friends, our voluntary giving report.
