The Research Process

Copyright Statement

Copyright protection exists in "original works of authorship" which are fixed in a tangible medium of expression. Among the types of works subject to copyright protection are the following: books, plays, music, photographs, graphics, sound recordings, sculpture, paintings, motion pictures, and audio-visual works. These categories include books used for reference (dictionaries, encyclopedias), video cassettes, computer programs and databases. Remember, too, as we enter the 21st century, that the rights of "authors" must be respected in cases of electronic media, ie. TV broadcasts, cable, Internet, multimedia and software.
