Friends School of Baltimore

Service

Friends School seeks to live the Quaker conviction that there is "that of God" in everyone—an inner Light that shines most brightly through charitable acts, peaceable conduct and service to others. Through such service, students discover their unique gifts and come to appreciate the many ways in which we depend upon one another.

Both community service—performing volunteer work at the local, national or global level—and service learning—a teaching method in which service is integrated with the academic program—are integral parts of a Friends School education. Both forms of service play a vital role in preparing our students, Pre-K through Grade 12, to lead full, consequential, compassionate lives.
