Baltimore, MD—Two Friends School alumni figured prominently in the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which were held in Los Angeles on August 29. Bucky Gunts '68 won the award for best direction in a variety, comedy or music special for his work on the 2010 Olympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony in Vancouver. Jason Winer '90, who directs the hit comedy series “Modern Family,” was nominated for best director award for that show but did not win. Earlier this year he took home a Golden Globe and a Directors Guild of America Award for his work on the series. (Ultimately, “Modern Family” claimed the Emmy for best comedy.)
