Friends Upper Schoolers Shine on 2011 Foreign Language Awards

Baltimore, MD—At the 2011 Upper School Foreign Language Awards assemblies this spring, the following Friends Upper School students were recognized for their outstanding performance on the French, Russian, Spanish and Latin National Exams. Participation in the national foreign language exams is optional. Friends School students elect to take them on their own time.
Latin

Nearly 100,000 students from the U.S. and abroad competed in the National French Contest, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Students in the top 80th percentile earn Certificats d’Honneur and students in the top 50th percentile earn a Certificat de Réussite. In addition, several Friends students distinguished themselves by earning top-ten rankings in the state of Maryland.
