"Being a Great Parent Is Less Work and More Fun than You Think" Author Bryan Caplan to Speak at Friends October 18

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: October 7, 2011

Baltimore, MD—Does the combination of “great parent” and “less work” strike you as an oxymoron or, worse, a prescription for failure? Prepare to change your mind. Join the Friends School of Baltimore on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 7 p.m. for a provocative evening of discussion with Bryan Caplan, author of Selfish Reason to Have More Kids: Why Being a Great Parent Is Less Work and More Fun than You Think. His parenting philosophy has been hailed as the antidote to author Amy Chua's high-intensity "Tiger Mom" style of child-rearing. The lecture will take place in the School’s Forbush Auditorium. Admission is free and seating is first-come, first-seated.

In addition to striving to be a less-harried parent of three kids, Caplan is a professor of economics at George Mason University and a blogger at EconLog, one of the Wall Street Journal’s Top 25 Economics blogs. His first book, The Myth of the Rational Voter, was named the best political book of the year by the New York Times.

The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the Forbush Auditorium of the Friends School of Baltimore, at 5114 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21210-2096. For more information, contact Heidi Blalock at hblalock@friendsbalt.org
