Baltimore, MD—Guilford Garden Club with Friends School of Baltimore presents “Going Native: Food, Water, Shelter, Life” on Tuesday (2-6 p.m.) and Wednesday (8 a.m.- 5 p.m.), October 17-18, 2011, the Zamoiski Alumni Center. The show is open to the public and admission is free. The show will feature flower arranging, horticulture, and photography exhibits, with explanations about the exhibits provided by Garden Club members. “Going Native” will also showcase the Guilford Garden Club’s extensive work in creating the visually stunning native plant teaching gardens found throughout the Friends School campus. Club members have been partnering with the School since 2005 to create the “teaching gardens,” which are used throughout the School curriculum in age-appropriate ways. Guided tours of the Native Plant Gardens will be given on Tuesday, October 17 at 2 p.m. and then again on Wednesday, October 18 at 10 a.m. For more information, contact Kay McConnell at kathrynbmcconnell@gmail.com.
