Baltimore, MD—Friends School has won the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Maryland team challenge (school category) for fundraising, according to the School’s team captain Erin Zimmerman. “Our goal was to raise $5,000 and recruit 50 team members,” she says. As of October 21, Friends had raised $7,751.81, excluding registration fees, and recruited 59 team members. The Friends team will be presented with a banner to carry during the Komen Race opening ceremonies, which take place at 7:30 a.m. on race day, Sunday, October 23, at 11350 McCormick Road, across Shawan Road from Hunt Valley Towne Centre.
