Volunteers (age 14-plus) Needed Sundays to Serve Dinner at My Sister’s Place
Friends School volunteers (age 14 and older) on the last Sunday of each month serve dinner at My Sister’s Place, a day shelter for homeless and poor women and children in downtown Baltimore. This Sunday, September 25, we could use a few more volunteers. Can you lend a hand?
The work is simple---easy food prep, serving, clean-up, and then set up for the next day’s breakfast. We need a minimum of six to eight (maximum 12) volunteers to work from 4 to 7 pm on the fourth Sunday of every month. MSP is located at 17 W. Franklin St., in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood.
Upper School parent Deborah Gallant coordinates the volunteer list every month. If you can help us this Sunday, or any other upcoming Sunday, please email her at deborahgallant@hotmail.com. She will confirm with you via email.
Dates for this school year:
You read. We give books.
Visit www.wegivebooks.org and choose a book to read online. When you finish reading, pick a non-profit literacy organization to support and a new book will be donated to them. The more you read, the more they give to the children they serve. It’s that simple!
