The Friends School Parents Association (PA) fosters many opportunities to get involved. Want to really get to know other families and children? Volunteer for Pre-Primary Pizza Day or become a grade chair or class parent. Want to experience the satisfaction of physical labor that contributes thousands of dollars to your child's school? Pitch in at Holly Fest or one of our other fund raisers. Want to help our athletes? Volunteer to become part of Parents Supporting Athletics. Want to welcome others to Friends? Join Family to Family.
Even if you work full time and only have a few hours to spare, you can pitch in to help make the PA, its activities and your school a success. You don’t have to know the right people. Just contact our Volunteer Chair and we’ll help you get involved. We promise that you’ll get more out of the experience than you give.

This program welcomes new students and their parents to the Friends' community. We welcome the students by pairing them with current students and/or families who offer to talk with and meet the new students and/or families. At each level there is also a gathering such as a picnic, potluck dinner, or simple student-only party. In the lower grades the focus is on the families, with current families doing the welcoming. In the Middle School the focus begins to shift to the students, with the students and their families being welcomed by current students. By Upper School, that shift is complete: current students welcome new students. There can be a separate coffee hour for interested Upper School parents during the first days of school.
Timing: Initial contact is established in summer, but events targeted to welcome new families will be held throughout the year.
