Announcing our new Upper School Principal Brandon Rogers

Announcing our new Upper School Principal Brandon Rogers

Dear Friends School Community,

I am pleased to announce Brandon Rogers as our new Upper School Principal, beginning July 1, 2023. Brandon will join us all the way from Waimea, Hawaii where he currently serves as the Assistant Head of School at Parker School.

The Search Committee was impressed with Brandon throughout the interview process. During conversations, it became clear that Brandon’s authenticity and values as a person and educator align with the mission and spirit of Friends School. His collaborative leadership style, curiosity, warmth, and sense of humor resonated with those who met him. He put people at ease and engaged in thoughtful conversations about a shared dedication to best practices in pedagogy for student-centered learning and teaching.

Brandon has a proven record of strong leadership, programmatic innovation, purposeful partnership with families, and student and faculty support. We are confident that Brandon will make a solid, dynamic principal of the Upper School.

Brandon brings over 20 years of experience as an educator and administrator to this role. After receiving a BS Ed in English education from the University of Georgia and an MA in English from Georgia State University, he began teaching English at the Atlanta International School. After 15 years of teaching, he entered into leadership positions as Grade 12 Head of Year (2004-2007) and Secondary School Head of Languages (2008-2017). He has also served as Head of Middle and Upper School at the Khan Lab School in Mountain View, Calif., and Secondary School Principal at the International School of Turin in Turin, Italy.

I would like to thank the Upper School Principal Search Committee members and the employees, parents, and students who met with the candidates, provided feedback, and led us to choose Brandon.

As our senior administrative positions are filled, I am increasingly excited and assured that we are building a strong and seasoned team to lead us into the future.

In partnership,

Christian Donovan

Head of School
