The Upper School offers a rigorous college preparatory program in an atmosphere where individual differences and perspectives are respected and celebrated. With a broad range of course offerings within various disciplines, students can tailor the academic program to suit their aptitudes and interests. Here, students are encouraged to reach their full potential and to "let their lives speak."

As we count down to the end of the school year, we asked some of our seniors to tell us about their interests at Friends and how their experience has prepared them for the next step.

What is/has been your favorite subject at Friends?
"My favorite subject at Friends was my Islamic Studies class. I have been able to travel to a few Islamic countries (Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan), which sparked my interest in this class. In class, we created posters for different Islamic figures, made presentations for different Islamic countries, and had in-depth class discussions about different aspects of the Quran. Our teacher (Mr. Khan) was very passionate and knowledgeable about this subject, which I deeply appreciated."

How do you think Friends has prepared you for your next step in life?
"Since I have been at Friends my entire life, I have had many opportunities that I may not have had otherwise. A few examples of this are the language immersion trip to France that my French class took, numerous Middle School field trips, and my summer job as a lifeguard at Friends' camp, Summer at Friends. The college counselors have also been a huge advantage of attending Friends. They helped me through the sports recruiting process, writing my personal statement, and sending in my application."
