Friends School of Baltimore is excited to host a special online session for parents and guardians with popular Association of Independent of Maryland and DC Schools (AIMS) presenter, Dr. Jared Cooney Horvath about the effects of tech on learning and the brain.
Kids, Tech, and Learning: A Journey Through the Developing Brain What is going on with teenagers? During this evening session, we will explore the brain, consider how it develops across the lifespan, and consider ways we can support our children during their academic, emotional, and cognitive growth. From there we will take a look at technology, consider its impact on this developmental process, and consider strategies we can use to improve learning during childhood and adolescence.
Jared Cooney Horvath, PhD, MEd is a world-renowned neuroscientist, educator, and author of the best-selling book Stop Talking, Start Influencing: 12 Insights from Brain Science to Make Your Message Stick. He has conducted research and lectured at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, the University of Melbourne, and over 750 schools internationally. Jared has published 6 books, over 50 research articles, and his work has been featured in numerous popular publications, including The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Economist, and PBS’s NOVA. He currently serves as Director of LME Global: a team dedicated to bringing the latest brain and behavioral research to teachers, students, and parents alike.
