A Storied Tradition of Outstanding Theater

As in the classroom, students that participate in theater are held to a high standard of achievement. Led by dedicated faculty, Friends' students are able to cultivate their curiosity, improve their skills, and discover the joy of making and sharing art in community with others. Through auditions, rehearsals, and careful attention, students gain self-confidence, develop authenticity, and give inspiring performances.

Middle School

The Middle School musical is a very popular annual activity for students in grades 6-8. Students are involved in every aspect of the production including performing on the stage, designing and building the set, and working on the stage crew.

Upper School

Dozens of Friends students participate in The School’s three annual productions, including a fall play, a student-run production, and a popular spring musical. For an in-depth learning experience, students may also enroll in Craft of Acting, Playwriting, Broadway Musical Workshop, or Stage Craft.
