Scarlet & Gray Day

Scarlet and Gray Day is October 19, 2019. Come out and show your Friends School spirit! The School, Athletic Department, Parents Association and Alumni Office all come together to provide a great day for the whole Friends Community! Bring the family to cheer on our athletic teams and enjoy the carnival and great food! Rain or shine, it’s a Friends School tradition you don’t want to miss!

Events for the Whole Family

Family Carnival

Community members of all ages love the carnival sponsored by the Parents Association! Running from 10:00 am -3:00 pm, it features games, a moon bounce, crafts for kids of all ages and more. Tickets will be on sale for $1 each (or 25 for $20). Please note that ticket sales will be CASH ONLY.

Prize Booth

New this year!  Collect tickets when you play a game to redeem for prizes from the Prize Booth.  Stop by to see what you can collect!

Student Fundraising

Come out and support the 5th grade bake sale and the 8th grade lemon stick sale, as well as Upper School student-run clubs and programs! 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Friends Community Support!

Bring your gently used sports gear and clothing to donate to Level the Playing Field! How much can we collect?

Buy Friends School garb at the Quaker Closet, located below the Dining Hall, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Spirit Gear Giveaway

For the 4th year in a row the Friends School Parents Association will give out free t-shirts to all students to wear to the Pep Rally on Friday, October 18th and to wear to Scarlet and Gray Day on October 19th.  And then stop by the Spirit Table at Scarlet and Gray Day to pick up free spirit items such as beads, pom poms, sunglasses, and more!

Clothes, Shoes and Accessories Swap!

Bring any dressy kids clothes, shoes or accessories* that you no longer need, and swap them for things you need. You don't have to bring anything to take something. Drop-offs can be brought directly to the Swap table at Scarlet and Gray Day. There will also be a basket in the Middle School lobby during spirit week. Support reuse and reduce the size of our landfills! Prevent waste and inspire environmental mindedness among our community.
*RESTRICTED ITEMS: Items with rips, tears, stains. Everything must be in “Like New” condition.

Food and Drinks

Visit the Quaker Snack Shack located on the fields below the tennis courts. It will be open all day, offering a variety of snacks and beverages. Lunch options will also be offered through Pepe's located next to the gym entrance from 10 am – 5:30 pm. Pepe's will accept CASH ONLY.

Water stations will be available at multiple locations on campus. Bring your own reusable water bottle to fill up and stay hydrated! Get your free FSPA reusable cup when you purchase tickets. Several choices are also available for purchase in the Quaker Closet.

All campus guests may park in any available space on campus or in the Lawndale parking lot next to the Roland Park Pool. All parking is first come, first served.

WEATHER NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, please watch for areas of flooding in the Lawndale parking lot and along Stony Run Creek. Please obey signs and traffic cones if flooding occurs.

The Lawndale parking lot is located off of Wyndhurst Avenue. Turn onto Lawndale and follow the road back toward the swimming pool. There is a path along the swimming pool that leads directly onto the Friends School athletic fields.
