Scarlet & Gray Day | Rivalry Day

Scarlet & Gray Day is October 14, 2023. Come out in your FSB gear and show your Friends School spirit!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Scarlet & Gray Day | Rivalry Day will go on rain or shine, but unfortunately the weather forecast is looking dreary. The planning committee has been, and will continue, monitoring the weather. With the prediction calling for rain, the committee has decided to move the carnival activities indoors to the New Gym and the Middle School Lobby. The Pickleball Tournament is now canceled. Check for weather updates prior to the event, and take note of changes to the Athletic Games Schedule.

Organized by the Athletic Department, Parents Association, and Development Office, Scarlet & Gray Day brings our whole Friends School community together to enjoy a full day of athletics, spirit, and fun. Bring the family to cheer on our athletic teams, and enjoy the carnival, field games, live music, and great food! This year is the 25th anniversary of Scarlet & Gray Day AND Rivalry Day when we play Park School for many of our games - it is a Friends School tradition you don’t want to miss!

Many parent volunteers are needed to make this day a great success. The first 15 volunteers to sign up will receive 10 free carnival tickets (a $10 value).  All volunteers signing up will be put into a random drawing to receive a free Scarlet and Gray Day t-shirt (10 shirts to be given out). Click the button below to sign up.

Community Support
Friend School of Baltimore will be collecting used and new sports equipment for Level the Playing Field / LPF during Spirit Week (October 9-14) culminating at Scarlet & Gray Day on October 14! We will have LPF collections boxes located in the Lobby of the athletic center all week so feel free to bring sports gear and fill the boxes and help us create “a world with no sideline!”

LPF Mission - LPF redistributes equipment to expand access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under-resourced communities.
LPF Vision - A world with no sidelines.
LPF History - Leveling the Playing Field was founded in 2013 in response to the growing inequity between those that can afford to play sports and those that cannot, and the prominent role the cost of sporting goods was playing in that gap. After working in youth sports, college athletics and professional football, our founder, Max Levitt, realized the volume of equipment that goes to waste from elementary school aged kids all the way up to our professional sports franchises.  In response, he decided to develop essentially a food bank for sports equipment.
