Meet Our Year-Round Summer Camp Staff
Gabriela Avalos
Steve Cusick
Steve is a longtime Summer at Friends camper and counselor who joined our year-round office staff in 2017. Steve plans and oversees the camp's day to day operations and is available to help you with any registration or general questions you may have.
Nikki McGuire
Nikki joined the Office in January 2024. In addition to a multitude of school-year responsibilities, Nikki manages camper accounts, staff paperwork, and assists with many other camp functions. She is available to answer questions about our camp program and camper accounts.
Jack Skeen
Jack joined Summer at Friends as an Intermediate Camp Counselor in Summer 2022 and now works in the Office year-round. He supports the camp’s daily operations, plans special events, and manages our Counselor-In-Training Program. He’s also available to answer any questions you may have.

Summer at Friends Staff
Our summer camp staff includes:
- a Registered Nurse
- directors for each specific camp program
- teachers for specific classes, such as art, music, and science
- head counselors
- assistant counselors
- counselors-in-training (CITs)
We also hire a complete pool staff including:
- Director of Swimming
- certified lifeguards
- water safety instructors
