On Monday, January 18, 2021, we will take part in what will be our 17th annual Day of Service. It will look different from our past events, but it will still be the holiday that is a "day on, not a day off."
To date, nearly 250 adults and children from the Friends community have registered for 14 different activities both virtually and COVID safe, serving organizations in Baltimore such as Believe in Tomorrow Children’s House, Baltimore Hunger Project, Broadmead, The Family Tree, Helping Up Mission, Our Daily Bread, Paul’s Place and The Maryland Book Bank. The remaining spaces are filling up quickly!
We are thrilled to welcome this year’s keynote speaker, D. Watkins, author, teacher and founder of the BMORE Writers Project. Mr. Watkins will also have a 30 minute book talk to discuss his most recent book “We Speak for Ourselves, How Woke Culture Prohibits Progress.” To purchase an autographed copy of the book at a discount go to the IvyKids Authors website or stop by the Ivy Bookstore and tell them you are purchasing the book for Friends School MLK day of Service.
