Friends Upper School will present the Tony award-winning play "Peter and the Starcatcher" on Friday and Saturday, November 16 and 17, 7:30 pm in the School's Forbush Auditorium (3A on the Campus Map). Tickets are $10 and may be purchased online by clicking here.
Written by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Baker the wildly theatrical show, based on the book series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, upends the century-old story of how a lonely orphan becomes Peter Pan. From marauding pirates and jungle tyrants to unwilling comrades and unlikely heroes, Peter and the Starcatcher playfully explores the depths of greed and despair – and the bonds of friendship, duty, and love.
Directed by Robert Oppel, the talented cast features Penn Hoen ’20 as Boy/Peter, Ruskin Nohe-Moren ’21 as Prentiss, Graham Rifkin ’22 as Ted, Charlie Wayner ’21 as Lord Leonard Aster, Julia Henslee ’22 as Molly Aster, Quinn Parker ’20 as Mrs. Bumbrake, Jack Corkum ’20 as Captain Robert Falcon Scott, Samantha Handwerk ’22 as Grempkin, Giuliana Bucci ’22 as Bill Slank, Maren Helmacy ’20 as Alf, William Scharpf ’22 as Mack, Pace Schwarz ’19 as Black Stache, Ben Tasker ’21 as Smee, Claudia Stewart ’20 as Sanchez, Morgan Moore ’20 as Fighting Prawn, Nick Von Schnell ’20 as Hawking Clam, Emma Workman ’21 as Teacher. Cora Theuerkauf ’20 and Nick von Schnell are the Ensemble and Maria Angelos '21 is the stage manager.
