Empower Her Network advocates raise awareness around human trafficking

On January 13, 2020, Friends welcomed Kristy Norbert, the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Empower Her Network back to campus along with Baltimore Empowerment Advocate, Shamere McKenzie. Norbert previously worked at Friends School as the Upper School Counselor and spent part of the day engaging students in challenging discussions around human trafficking. Norbert and McKenzie (pictured above) shared with students how they can join the movement to end human trafficking.

The Network "collaborates with ready survivors of human trafficking who find themselves in the same vulnerable circumstance that led to their initial exploitation by removing housing barriers, financing education, and uncovering employment opportunities." There are currently nine 'Empower Her Network' branches across the United States.
