Six to watch

In an especially prolific year for Upper School artists, six Friends students have been recognized for 17 individual visual art submissions in the 2019 Scholastics Art & Writing Awards (Northeast Art Region-at-Large). The prestigious national competition annually draws more than 300,000 works from students in grades 7-12. Gold Key entries, of which the Friends artists claimed six this year, are automatically considered for national-level recognition. (National medals will be announced on National Notification Day, March 13, 2019.)
