Apply to Friends

Thank you for your interest in Friends School of Baltimore.  We look forward to working with your family. 

The steps necessary to complete the application process are listed below. Because requirements vary by grade, please click on the grade to which you are applying.

Important note:  All  admission  applicant files are now digitized,  and we request that you submit any required forms electronically via email, if possible.  If you have any questions, please contact the Friends School Office of Admission.
 

Create an Online Account

To apply online, you must first create an account.

  • If you are a new user, please click the button below to create an account and begin the application process.
    • We ask that you please use your first and last name as your username. (e.g. johndoe)
    • This option is not currently available on the iPad and/or Safari browser.
  • If you are a current Friends School or Little Friends parent applying for another child please use your current myFriends username and password.

Please include the $50 application fee and photo of applicant.

  • PreKindergarten - 1st Grade

    Schedule a Parent Interview
    Parent Interviews are required for applicants to Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade. To schedule, please contact the Admission Office.

    Visit and Assessment Mornings
    Admission assessments at Friends School are held December through January. A link to schedule your visit assessment morning will be sent after your application has been received.

    Common Referral Form
    Friends School requires a common referral form from current academic teachers or daycare providers.  To request a referral form from your current school/daycare, please log into your checklist on myFriends and send an email to your teacher or school. Directions are available on your checklist.

    If you are unable to send the referral form request through myFriends, please complete the Parent Release Form and give it to your child’s current school office along with the Common Referral Form.

    This form is due by January 15 and must come directly from current school or daycare provider. (See AIMS Confidentiality Statement).

    Transcript Release Form
    If transcripts are available from your current school, please log into your checklist on myFriends and send a request to your teacher or school. Directions are available on your checklist.

    If you are unable to send a transcript request through myFriends, please complete the Transcript Release Form and give it to your child’s current school office.  Forms should be emailed* or sent directly from your current school to Friends.  *Email is preferred.
  • Grades 2-5

    Student Shadow Day and Parent Interview
    To schedule a Shadow Day and Parent Interview, please contact the Admission Office

    Admission Testing
    Admission testing is offered on Saturday, January 12, 2018, for applicants to Friends. Registration information will be sent in November. Applicants only complete admission testing once. Scores will be shared with additional schools upon request.

    (NOTE: Applicants for 5th grade may take the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) in lieu of Friends School testing. To register:  ISEE.
     
  • Grades 6 -8

Candidate Notification

Once all the steps have been completed, the prospective student's file will be evaluated by the Admission Committee. You will be notified of an admission decision on February 21, 2019 (or later, based on availability at specific grade levels).
