Scarlet & Gray Day

Scarlet & Gray Day is October 21, come out and show your Friends School spirit! The School, the Athletic Department, the Parents Association and the Alumni Office all come together to provide a great day for the whole Friends Community! Bring the family to cheer on our athletic teams and enjoy the carnival, field games, live music and great food! Rain or shine, it’s a Friends School tradition you don’t want to miss!

Many parent volunteers are needed to make this day a great success. Click on "Volunteer for Scarlet & Gray" button on the left to help out.

Events for the Whole Family

Scarlet & Gray Family Fun Run/Walk
Friends School students, families, alumni, faculty and friends of all ages are invited to join the Cross Country Team and the Alumni Office for the 2017 Scarlet & Gray Day Family Fun Run/Walk! Wear your scarlet and gray to show your school spirit! The Fun Run will begin at 8:00 am at the Alumni Tent in front of the Zamoiski Alumni Center. The trail is approximately 2 miles long. At the conclusion of the run, light refreshments will be available.

Admission is free! To help those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria, we will be taking donations at the registration tent to help with the hurricane relief effort. To register, click here.

Family Carnival
Community members of all ages love the carnival sponsored by the Parents Association! Running from 10:00 to 3:00 pm, it features games, a moon bounce, crafts for kids of all ages and more. Tickets will be on sale for $1 each (or 25 for $20).

Field Games
Calling all Pre-Primary and Lower School students for relays and other humorous contests of strength and agility. Medals for all participants! 11:30 am - 1:00 pm with new games running every 1/2 hour.
Live Music
Friends School students perform live from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm! Jam to student rock, accoustic and vocal ensembles.

Student Fundraising
Come out and support the 5th grade bake sale and the 8th grade lemon stick sale, as well as Upper School student-run clubs and programs such as Habitat for Humanity, Soccer Without Borders and many more! 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Spirit Wear
Buy Friends School garb at the Quaker Closet, located below the Dining Hall. 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

T-Shirt Giveaway
For the third year in a row the Friends School Parents Association will give out free spirit t-shirts to all students and staff to wear to the Pep Rally on October 20th and to Scarlet and Gray Day on Saturday, October 21st. Let's show our great school spirit. Go Quakes!  

Alumni Events
Please join the Alumni Office at the Scarlet & Gray Alumni Tent outside of the Zamoiski Alumni Center! Alumni, their families and friends are invited back to campus for activities and events, including the Scarlet & Gray Day Family Fun Run/Walk, a campus tour and the Thomas P. LaMonica'67 Homecoming Celebration. There will also be Honorary Alumni Marshals serving at the varsity athletic contests throughout the day. Food and Drinks
Visit the Quaker Snack Shack located on the fields below the tennis courts. It will be open all day, offering a variety of snacks and beverages. Pepe's will also be offering breakfast and lunch from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

All campus guests may park in any available space on campus or in the Lawndale parking lot next to the Roland Park Pool. All parking is first come, first served.

WEATHER NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, please watch for areas of flooding in the Lawndale parking lot and along Stony Run Creek. Please obey signs and traffic cones if flooding occurs.

The Lawndale parking lot is located off of Wyndhurst Avenue. Turn onto Lawndale and follow the road back toward the swimming pool. There is a path along the swimming pool that leads directly onto the Friends School athletic fields.
