  • What are the giving deadlines for 2018?

    Checks by mail (U.S. Postal Service) must be postmarked by December 31, 2018. Checks by private carrier (UPS, FedEx, etc.) must be initiated and documented by the carrier by December 31, 2018. 

    Credit card gifts online must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31, 2018. (Give Online Now)

    Stock/Securities must be received in Friends School's account your brokerage firm with correct documentation by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31, 2018. Instructions on how to make a gift of securities can be found by clicking here. Please consult your brokerage to confirm the cutoff date by which they will guarantee transfers in 2018. If you have questions, please call Director of Development, Ashley Principe at 410-649-3268.
  • What are the Development Office's hours during the holidays? How do I reach you?

    The Development Office will be closed Thursday, December 20 through Wednesday, January 2, 2018, reopening Thursday, January 3 at 8am. Please call Caroline Rayburn, Director of Annual and Alumni Giving at 410-649-3306 while we are closed. You can also click here  to find the Development Office staff's email addresses.

    We will do our very best to respond to emails promptly. If you do not get an answer, please try calling the number listed above.
  • How can I make a gift?

    There are many ways to give:
    • Visit our secure Online Giving form
    • Call the Development Office directly at 410-649-3206
    • Mail your check to Friends School care of the Development Office:

    • Give a gift of securities (Directions to give securities)
  • Will I be asked to give?

    Yes. Each year, all members of the Friends School community are asked to provide philanthropic support to the School. The dollars raised and the percentage of participation within each constituency are what help us reach our goal. If you receive a call from one of our dedicated volunteers, please give generously.
  • Can I direct my gift to a specific area?

    You may direct your gift to any of the areas within our Annual Giving Program (area of greatest need are arts, athletics, academics, student financial assistance) or to an endowment fund. If you would like you to make your gift to a specific endowment, just note that on your online gift form, or call Ashley Principe at 410-649-3268.
  • Is my gift tax deductible?

    Yes. Friends School of Baltimore is a nonprofit organization recognized as tax-exempt by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3). Your charitable gift is fully tax deductible, as defined by the IRS. Tickets, auction items and gifts in kind may or may not be fully tax deductible under certain circumstances.
  • Can I make a provision for Friends School in my estate or through my IRA?

    Yes! There are creative ways to support Friends School of Baltimore – ways in which Friends School, you and your loved ones all benefit at the same time.
