I asked the Program Coordinators of the fall sports to tell me a little about themselves so the community can get to know them on and off the field. So without further delay, I introduce your WINTER PROGRAM COORDINATORS…
Henry Fuller comes to FSB from Glen Burnie High School where he served as a varsity basketball assistant coach. Prior to that, Fuller spent four years at Annapolis High School where he worked as an assistant coach. In addition to coaching high school basketball, Fuller has served as an AAU/Showcase head coach and Tournament Director since March 2000. He has won four national titles and three Maryland state championships during his tenure on the AAU circuit. Coach Fuller is dedicated to the success of his players on and off the court and has helped over 100 student-athletes obtain college scholarships.
Tom Ruzzi, also in his 1st year at Friends, was a 4-year starter in HS at Chaplegate and Catonsville High. In college, he played at CCBC Catonsville. He is currently a coach for Pipeline Soccer Club. He has served as a coach for Baltimore Celtic as well as the Director of Coaching for Dynasty Sports Academy and the Summer Programs at Soccersource360. Tom also had the pleasure of being Volunteer Assistant for Baltimore Celtic 2001 Dynasty and made 3 National Championship appearances in ‘13, 14, ‘15
Chris Newton has a long list of coaching and playing experience covering multiple sports including Assistant Coach, Girls Varsity Soccer at Christchurch School, and Girls Varsity Basketball as well as coaching Boys JV Soccer also at Christchurch School. At Episcopal High School Chris served as the Assistant Boys Varsity Squash coach for a year before taking over the head coaching spot. He played 4 years on the Episcopal High School Squash team before attending Trinity College where he also played 4 years on the Varsity Squash team.Chris is in his 4th year at Friends where he also is a High School Science Teacher.
Kyle Harmon is in his 6th year at Friends, where he also a Physical Education teacher and the Head Coach of the MS cross country team. Before Kyle started his coaching career he was a 4-year starter for the Varsity High School team at Parkside, where he was named to the All Mason Dixon Team in his senior year. He went on to play 4-years at Salisbury University. Besides Basketball Kyle excelled at other sports. In 2001 he was 1st team all-conference while running Cross Country at Parkside High School, was a member of the 2001 and 2002 Conference Champion Track and Field team, where he was the Individual State Champ in the High Jump Event. In 2003 at Salisbury University Kyle was a member of the All-Capital Athletic Conference Track and Field Team. In 2006 he started his coaching career.
The 2006-2008 assistant varsity basketball coach at Mardela High School in Mardela Springs, Maryland.
2008-2010 assistant men’s basketball coach and head strength and conditioning coach at St. Mary’s College of Maryland in St. Mary’s City, Maryland
2010-2017 assistant boys’ varsity basketball coach and head strength and conditioning coach at Mount Saint Joseph College High School in Baltimore, Maryland
Bill Hardy, is now entering his 12th year at Friends. Mr. Hardy came to Friends with a long list of coaching experience, including; Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach at St. Paul’s School for Boys, Varsity Assistant Wrestling Coach at Gilman School, Head JV Wrestling Coach at Gilman School, Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Hamden Hall Country Day School, Middle School B Soccer Coach at St. Paul’s School for Boys, Middle School Soccer Coach at Indian Creek School. Bill also served at the Middle School B Girls Soccer Coach at Friends. Before his coaching career started he wrestled at Wilmington Friends School. When he is not teaching on the wrestling mats, Mr. Hardy serves as a 5th Grade Teacher. One of the things he is proudest of is the rebuilding of the wrestling program at Friends and having 2 wrestlers qualify for and wrestle at the National Prep wrestling tournament.
