Research. Create. Teach.

Visitors have just over a day to take in Museum of the American Indian -- Past and Present, a third grade exhibition in the Katz Gallery (Forbush Building, lower level). The culmination of a three-month project-based learning unit, the installation features models and re-creations of Native American artifacts representing tribes across the U.S. A key component of this unit is the docent role students take on as they share their learnings and the processes they used to create their exhibits with fellow Lower Schoolers and their teachers. Third grade teacher Judy Sandler writes about the importance of voice and choice in this innovative unit in a March 2018 Edutopia article. Click here to read the piece.
