Boys JV Soccer on Friday, Sept. 23 defeated Severn School, 2-1, in overtime. Mason Marchetti ’20 opened up the scoring late in the first half, finishing off a perfect corner from Quinn Parker ‘20. Severn tied the game early in the second half and the game went into OT. The Quakers wouldn't take long to find the game winner. Three minutes into the first overtime period, Kyle Weinman ’20 served a beautiful ball into the box, where Noah Klein ’19 used his head to flick it over the keeper, just inside the far post, setting off a raucous celebration.
"Three games in a week is tough, especially when they’re all on the road," said coach Tom Durkin. “The legs were heavy, and the boys were tired, but no one made excuses. I am super-proud of this group. They gutted out that win today.”
The team will travel again this afternoon when then they take on Annapolis Christian High School for a 4 pm game. Wish them luck!
