In their season opener against Key School, Girls Varsity Soccer defeated Key School, 44–23. Highlighting the offense, Katie Capizzi ’18 led the way with 19 points in her first game for Friends, followed by Hannah Goodenough ’19, who scored 16 points off the bench. Freshmen Mary Charlotte Mortimer ’20 and Gabby Sklar ’20 scored their first Varsity points. For the defense, freshman Kendi JaFar '20 was strong on the boards. The team only allowed 1 point in the 3rd quarter to Key and 6 total in the second half after trailing by 1 point at halftime. The Quakers now stand at 2-1 on the young season, having lost to Bryn Mawr followed by a win against Jemicy. The girls will host Indian Creek this afternoon, 4 pm, in the Quakerdome.
