Walking the Talk

Lower School students took to the Friends School walkways on Friday, January 20, carrying hand-made signs and singing songs during their very own campus Peace March. The brainchild of 3rd graders in teacher Victoria LeBron’s class, the march brought out students and many parents from Pre-K through 5th grade. Even children and staff from Little Friends Early Learning Center braved the cold drizzle to support the marchers. Asked why she was marching, Som-Mai Henry-Pham ’29, giggled self-consciously and replied in a tiny voice, “I don’t know." Her mom, Megan Henry, offered encouragement. “What’s on your sign?” she asked. “Love!” cried Som-Mai, her face lighting up. “I’m marching for love.”
