Girls Varsity Basketball in first-round playoffs traveled to Chapelgate Christian Academy on February 9, where they defeated the Yellowjackets, 50-45. The Quakers led the entire game, jumping out to a 13-2 lead and never looking back. Hannah Goodenough ’19, playing her first game in a month due to injury, led the team in scoring with 16 points, followed by Katie Capizzi ’18 with 11, Kendi Jafar ’20 with 9, and Bria Randolph'19 with 6. Charessa Crosse ‘19 and Carli Freeman ’18 were tremendous on defense; so too was Randolph, who contributed 3 blocks and worked both ends of the floor. “This was our first game in a month played entirely healthy, and the first we’ve played in six weeks with all five starters,” said coach Ken Zalis. “The team showed that if you stay focused you can overcome the odds. Great win!” The Quakers travels to Crownsville, Md. on Tuesday, February 14, Valentine's Day, to face Indian Creek School in the I.A.A.M. C Conference quarterfinals. Show them some LOVE, Friends!
