Knock down, drag out win

After two losses last week and a bit of a slow start, Girls Varsity Lacrosse yesterday won a 2-hour overtime game in Annapolis against Annapolis Area Christian School, 20-19. After AACS took a 3-0 lead just 2 minutes into the game, the Quakes began chipping away, with consecutive goals scored 2 1/2 minutes into play by Irene Lunt '17 and Charessa Crosse '19. The Quakers' team play and competitive spirit took them into halftime tied at 11. The second half proved as competitive as the first with scoring streaks by both teams. Ultimately, AACS scored the tieing goal as time expired in regulation. Overtime was short in length as the Quakes won possession on the draw and controlled the tempo with Irene Lunt scoring the game-winning goal.
