Bringing the trophy home again

The Varsity Golf team on Tuesday, May 23 at Mt. Pleasant Golf Course defeated Jemicy School, 11-10, to claim its second consecutive C Conference championship. The Quakers finished the season with a 6-0 record. Co-captain Jay Crawford ’17 had the best performance of his Friends career, shooting even par in his match. Co-captain Cameron Matsui ’18 came from 2 behind to win his last three holes and clinch his match. Kiefer Yost ’19 and Mike Klausner ’18 both needed to win their last hole to secure the championship. Mike’s dramatic three-foot putt sealed the deal for the Quakers who returned the trophy to Charles Street. In an email, coaches Paul Levine, Bill Raitzyk, and Tom Marechek wrote, “Congratulations to the whole team for an incredible and thrilling season. We are the champions!”
