Summer Stock at Friends will present the Stephen Sondheim musical "Merrily We Roll Along" on Friday and Saturday, July 21 and 22, at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, July, 23, at 2 pm in the Forbush Auditorium (#3A on the campus map). Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door the night of the show. Featuring a complex score and intricate lyrics that live up to such popular Sondheim hits as "West Side Story" and "Into the Woods," “Merrily We Roll Along” begins in the present and moves backward, tracing the lives of wealthy, jaded composer, Franklin Shepard, and his two estranged friends through each milestone, good and bad, of their personal and professional lives. The show ends with a touch of rueful irony, as the three best friends at the start of their careers, face a bright future: young, talented and enthusiastic about a world that’s waiting to be conquered.
