Varsity Volleyball sets its sights on Finals

Varsity Volleyball on Thursday, August 31 wrapped up the third of their three pre-season matches with a 3-1 win over Roland Park Country School.

The Quakes really pushed themselves this pre-season and held their own against opponents that included Bryn Mawr and Palotti. Said second-year coach Tyler Wideman said, "It's very early in the season and we’re already keeping up with teams that are in a higher conference. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do with the passion and excitement these players bring to the court.” Thursday's standouts included Lulu Whitmore '19, who got 13 aces on the night, and Hannah Goodenough '19, who was wall at the net with 5 blocks. New to volleyball this year, senior Katie Capizzi's '18 is already a huge asset as the team’s starting setter, and Nicole Vershov '18 was amazing on defense, picking up balls the other team thought they’d already won..

The team will host Fellowship of Christian Athletes on Tuesay, September 5, 4:30 pm.
And be sure to come out Friday, September 15, 5:30 pm, when we bring Friday Night Volleyball vs. St. Mary's to the Quaker Dome.
