Creating Living Landscapes

Friends School of Baltimore, in partnership with the Guilford Garden Club and Lake Roland Nature Council, will welcome Doug Tallamy, author of Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our Gardens, on Tuesday, December 5, 7 pm, in the Forbush Auditorium. Dr. Tallamy's lecture, "Creating Living Landscapes," is open to all and admission is free.

A professor of entomology and wildlife ecology at the University of Delaware for 36 years, Dr. Tallamy’s work focuses on the specialized relationships between birds, insects, and plants and how gardeners can transform residential landscapes into local ecosystems that enhance, rather than destroy, biodiversity.

The recipient of the Garden Club of America Margaret Douglas Medal for Conservation and the Tom Dodd, Jr. Award for Excellence, he is a regular columnist for Garden Design Magazine and is co-author of The Living Landscape. For more information about the December 5 lecture, contact Heidi Blalock.
